Last week when I stopped by American Brewmaster to purchase Port and Sherry kits, I decided to buy supplies for a batch of beer. So I'm back into beer making ...

I decided that my first batch of beer in several years needed to be something Lorraine might like. Founds LOTS of things that interested me,but wasn't sure for her. I kept coming back to this can and decided to go for it!
I've always boiled the wort for an hour or so. This time I'm following the directions on the label, just to see how it comes out.

Boiled water and put Muntons can into it. Set aside. Stirred up 1/2 cup warm water, 1 Tbsp sugar, and yeast packet. Foamed up nicely. Boiled 1 gallon water, put in fermenter with the Muntons; used drill-mounted stirring rod to mix. Added dry malt and mixed again. Topped up with cold water to 5-1/2 gallons. Added yeast to wort. |

Racked. Was going to bottle today, going with one-stage fermentation, but the SG is high. Put it in a carboy until next weekend. |

This one is "ok", but it's nothing I'll rush out to make again. |
